Jory Anast

Born in California, grown in Australia, and raised on planes between the two, Jory Anast had an exceptional amount of new experiences to write about as a child, and an obsessive need to do so. That need led her to undertaking a Creative and Professional Writing degree at QUT in Brisbane, graduating with a BFA. Always stuck with the urge to tell stories and rarely with the focus to know how, Jory is a published poet, playwright, fiction writer, critic, and opinion columnist. Her individual work is studied in high schools across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, and her plays still tour the nation with her co-run theatre company, The Violent Romantics. Now in the world of film-making, Jory has graduated AFI with her Masters in Screenwriting, her fingers itching to write the next one.
