Melamed spent eight years in the trading pits, betting on everything from Soybeans to Gold. In

A CORNER IN GOLD, his American Film Institute thesis film, he offers the viewer an insider's view into the world of risk. His past experiences have included teaching inmates at a prison and opening and running a clothing store. He began his film career with a fashion video to promote his clothing store, which went on to play at boutiques nationwide. His first film, the short THE HOLE IN THE FLOOR won awards at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. While earning his Masters degree at the American Film Institute,

Jordan made three short videos before writing and directing A CORNER IN GOLD. He is currently writing a feature film based on the true story of one man's survival during war, a black comedy tentatively titled FROM SARAJEVO TO BEVERLY HILLS.
