Joe Burke discovered his passion for filmmaking at a young age growing up in Toledo, OH. After graduating high school, Joe moved to Chicago where he enrolled in Columbia College Chicago in the Fall of 2002. It was at this point in time Joe founded Elantra Films, L.L.C. - an independent film production company that made it possible for him to produce and self-release several of his short films, including his award winning “Coop’’s Night In.” Joe graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2006 with a B.A. in film and a minor in theater/acting. The following year Joe applied for a fellowship to American Film Institute (AFI), and moved out Los Angeles, CA. After two years of studying as a Directing Fellow at AFI, having been fully committed to his continued growth as a writer/director, Joe earned his Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in 2009. He is currently living in Hollywood, promoting his latest short film, ‘Nice Knowing You’’, which he both wrote and directed. Joe acknowledges the extraordinary opportunity and tremendous responsibility that comes with being a filmmaker.
