Jeff Bierman

Jeff Bierman

At an early age Jeff’s desire to understand people and their actions led him to explore photography. The still camera allowed him the opportunity to express emotions with images, which stays at the core of his approach to cinematography. As a cinematographer his goal is to create a world that the audience can release themselves into. For him the cinematic experience is about turning the cerebral process into a physical response. He believes the audience should fully feel what the characters in the film are going through.

At 23 years, Jeff is one of the youngest fellows accepted into the program at AFI. He has been studying the art and craft of filmmaking for over 7 years. During that time he has made over 20 films and won numerous awards.
