
Hana Kitasei
HANA KITASEI (cinematographer) is a freelance cinematographer, recently transplanted from Brooklyn. She became passionate about film as an undergraduate at Harvard University, where she majored in Mathematics. Since graduating in 2009, Kitasei has shot a wide variety of narrative, documentary, experimental and animated films, including a fairy tale adaptation with Michael Almereyda, a 3D concert documentary in Nepal, and a stop-motion animated interpretation of a Freudian dream. She also worked as a storyboard artist for the 2013 Oscar® nominated short HEAD OVER HEELS. In 2013 and 2014, she assisted and shadowed Ellen Kuras, ASC. While at AFI, Hana received the Alfred P. Sloan Tuition scholarship for her studies.
