Guy Pooles
Guy’’s heart has always belonged to the cinema. His infatuation with the emotive power of imagery began with his passion for Stills Photography, and as he began to identify a commonality between his two obsessions, films and photography, his creative focus evolved into Cinematography. After creating a number of low-budget short films, Guy graduated from Royal Holloway University of London in 2010, with a BA in their Media Arts program. He then chose to leave his home in Cambridge, England, to study Cinematography at the American Film Institute Conservatory; a school renowned for its focus upon storytelling within all disciplines of filmmaking. Guy strives to keep his work free of an identifiable style. He is a firm believer that the impression made by the Cinematographer upon a film should go unnoticed by the viewer, and his only goal is to construct cinematic imagery that accurately defines the emotion of each narrative, while always clearly and concisely telling the story.
