Gerry was born in Austin, Texas. Upon Graduation from Vanderbilt University he moved to New York City where he worked at Miramax Films and as an assistant to the producer Scott Rudin. In addition, he also worked as the Creative Executive of Accomplice Films, the production Company started by Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe. In 2008 he was the assistant to Director Terrence Malick on the film, THE TREE OF LIFE. In 2010, Gerry was awarded the Richard Levinson Scholarship for Screenwriting while a MFA student at the AFI.
