Francesca Prada

Francesca Prada born and raised in Buenos Aries, Argentina, grew up backstage in an opera house along side her mother and in a surgical operating room with her father. Hospitals and opera houses offered her the kind of environment that force discipline and dedication to a craft.

She has spent the past 17 years in film as a practitioner and a scholar. She works as a

freelance creative producer-director for broadcast and theatrical projects-on

everything from big budget features & TV for studios to commercials for

multinational corporations to interactive multiple-platform multimedia

projects.

She produces one to two showcase films per year, with women

directing their first film, it's in part a workshop, mentoring program and

part professional training. Francesca does this through Diana Films, an

entity she formed specifically to mentor, train and develop talent.

Her most

recent Co-Producing venture: The Award winning TRAVELLING COMPANION by Paula

Goldberg (First Place Cineffable Festival-Paris, Executive Director's Prize

-Newport Beach Int'l Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, People's Choice

Award Palm Springs Film Festival). Her film directing credits include

POLITCALLY CORRECT -honorable mention at the Columbus International Film

Festival, Smoky Mountain Media Fest, Utah Film Festival and US Film Festival.



Ms. Prada also directed a short film for Pam MacDaniel's production of

FAULKNER'S BICYCLE which screened for three weeks at the Working Women's

Festival in San Francisco. She has also directed for theater, most recently,

she directed two staged readings of new works by Tommi Avicola Mecca at the

Jon Sims Center. Her poetry has been published in several anthologies.



Her other professional adventures include work on: THE LAST EXPRESS

(Production Supervisor), TALES OF THE CITY (Locations), SISTER ACT II

(Locations), JADE (Locations Co-ord), CRAZY LOVE (Production Co-ord),

MURDER IN THE FIRST (Locations) and NASH BRIDGES (Production

Coordinator.)



She is on the board of Swan's reach, a program that mentors and

educates at risk youth that wish to pursue careers in multimedia and the

arts. Hobbies: photography and painting. She is currently Producing a

documentary for PBS entitled EVERYCHILD IS BORN A POET: THE LIFE AND WORK

OF PIRI THOMAS By Jonathan Robinson. When Francesca has free time, she

enjoys sleeping and eating.
