Emily Ackerman

Emily is a screenwriting fellow at the AFI where she received the Stan Kamen Scholarship Award. Emily graduated from Duke University with a BA in English and High Distinction in Creative Writing. In 2011, Emily served as a Head Web writer for the Tribeca Film Festival and interviewed filmmakers including Oscar-­‐winner Susanne Bier. At AFI, Emily has written three features, co-­‐written on four produced shorts and directed her first short shot on 35mm. Most recently, Emily worked as an intern on NBC’’s UNFORGETTABLE. Beyond the world of film, Emily harbors a passion for the wilderness of Montana.
