Emilia Mendieta Córdova

Emilia Mendieta Córdova is a Kansas-born & Quito-raised Ecuadorian-American cinematographer. She graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in Film Production and Chinese Studies in 2010. After graduating, Mendieta Córdova worked as an A.D. on TV commercials for VERTIGO, an award-winning production company in Ecuador and then went on to work as a videographer & graphic designer for Runa, a Brooklyn-based start-up tea company. While in New York, Emilia shot videos for a wide gamut of organizations from OPIN Pets, to NAC- LA, and the Amsterdam-based TWINSPARK RAC- ING. Emilia recently completed her MFA in Cin- ematography at AFI where she was awarded the Latino Donor Collaborative scholarship. Mendieta Córdova is fluent in English, Spanish, proficient in Mandarin Chinese, and is also a classically-trained cellist and culinary arts enthusiast.
