Elizabeth Massie
Elizabeth received her MFA in Directing at the American Film Institute in 1998. At AFI, she directed four short films, including MI CASA ES SU CASA, starring Mary Ellen Trainor. MI CASA won the Grand Jury Award at the Flagstaff International Film Festival, the Finalists Award at the Houston International Film Festival and has been screened at many other festivals. Since then, she has produced and directed two documentaries, WHO CARES ABOUT GIRLS and WHAT A GIRL WANTS, and sold her screenplay, GOLDEN LADS. Her latest film, ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING, a 35mm short comedy, had its premiere at Sony Pictures Studio on September 6. She is currently developing several feature projects, both as a writer and a writer-director, with her producing partner at Acadia Films. Prior to AFI, Elizabeth ran Mike Nichols’’ company, Icarus Production and worked extensively on the productions of WOLF and THE BIRDCAGE. She received her Certificate in Film from New York University where she made her first film, 333 SYCAMORE, which was aired on the Independent Film Channel in 1994. Elizabeth earned a BA cum laude in Humanities from Yale University.
