Elena Mannes

Elena Mannes has achieved wide recognition and many honors over her

career as a documentary director/producer. Recently, she made her

theatrical debut directing and producing the feature documentary

film, IAMAZING GRACE, which won her a second DGAI Award for

Outstanding Directorial Achievement as well as an Emmy for

Directing, and a CINE Golden Eagle. Her other awards have included

A George Foster Peabody Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism

Award, and four additional Emmys. After a long affiliation with CBS

News, Ms. Mannes became an independent producer/director in 1987.

Among her projects have been several PBS documentaries will Bill

Moyers and a television documentary/drama project with George Lucas

as Executive Producer.
