Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen

Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen hails from Copenhagen, Denmark where he started directing small films at the age of seventeen. Daniel draws on life experience when he creates his work.

Such is the case with Daniels second short film ”The Song” which has many similarities to ”Turtle” and is inspired by Daniels relationship to his father when growing up. ”The Song” won the 2nd Prize for Best Narrative Short at the Chicago International Childrens Film in 2010.

Daniel also directed Denmark’’s first webisode ”Robin Färdig”, which was supported by the National Danish Broadcasting Corporation, and received acclaim with Danish critics.

For many years Daniel has honed his craft as a music video director. This has lead him to join the acclaimed production company Black Dog films, which is the music video branch of the worldwide commercial production company RSA (Ridley Scott Associates).

Daniel’’s latest achievement is a Young Directors Award for Best Music Video at the 2013 Cannes Lions Festival.

An even bigger achievement seemed to be Daniel completing the American Film Institute Conservatory, and having a film to show for it. At the moment Daniel is developing a youth feature, which takes the audience on a very unusual trip, depicted in the intimate way Daniel normally likes to create his stories.
