Dan graduated from The School of Visual Arts in 2009, with a BFA in Film Production. He has worked on numerous film and television productions in NYC and directed short films and documentaries.

In 2011 he worked on SHAME and as the assistant to Jennifer Westfeldt (writer/director/actor) on FRIENDS WITH KIDS. His short film THE GAMES OF NIGHT screened at a number of film festivals and his most recent short documentary OUR NEED FOR CONSOLATION, a dramatization of an essay featuring Stellan Skarsgård as an on-camera narrator, premiered at the Gothenburg International Film Festival and screened at Palms Springs Shortfest in 2012.
