Christin Scholten
Though she had a love of film from a young age, it was a scholarship to the Banff Centre of the Arts that was her stepping-stone into production. After undergrad she worked several years as an assistant to various producers in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Christin has worked on six MOWs for networks such as ABC Family, TNT and HBO, including the 2007 Emmy award winning BURY MY HEART AT WOUNDED KNEE.
While completing her Masters of Fine Arts at the prestigious American Film Institute she produced six short films. Her responsibilities on these films ranged from fund raising, to significant creative involvement, to handling all the details associated with a Line Producer. During her second year at AFI Christin completed four internships, ranging from on-air promotions at Fox, distribution at Echo Bridge Entertainment, and development at a smaller production company.
Christin loves all the facets of filmmaking - from the grand to the gruelling. That's why she has chosen to be a producer. But most of all she is motivated to tell positive and affirming stories about people who are marginalized and underrepresented by the mainstream media, and she believes the best way to reach her audience with an important message is to package it in an entertaining story.
