Born in Hong Kong, Jane Casey Modderno was reared on a diet of scary stories and punk music. As a writer, Casey helmed both S1 and 2 of the horror revenge series THE BIRCH for Facebook Watch, averaging four million views per episode. She completed the horror feature MOONSHADOW for Gunpowder and Sky with Silas Howard set to direct. And most recently, she served as head writer and co-executive producer on the coming-of-age monster-hunting series, THE GIRL IN THE WOODS, for Peacock -- with Krysten Ritter and Jacob Chase directing. As a director, her short films have screened worldwide at festivals such as AFI Fest, Raindance, and the Montreal World Film Festival. Two of her shorts, PET RITUALS and DISGRACE are available to watch via Vimeo's Staff Picks and Short of the Week. FAVORITE SON, her first feature as writer-director, is set up at Amasia and is billed as Trainspotting for the Fentanyl generation. Casey is an out and proud trans woman
