Brian Hecker
DirectorAs a senior in high school, Brian won Best of Show at The International Student Media Festival with his short video GROWING UP WITH STRESS.
Theater/acting background:
-Became member of SAG at 16 (acted in various venues since, including a professsional children’’s touring show and a long-running televised comedy sketch program in Chicago, Stinky’’s Pub )
-Received Bachelor of Science in Speech at Northwestern University
-Created talent agency at Northwestern called, NU Talent, that bridged the gap between professional Chicago actors and student filmmakers—still exists today after seven years.

Sept. ‘95—began AFI program · June ’’96 -- awarded Cort/Swedlin Director of the Year Scholarship” at AFI after first year in program.
· October ’’96 -- hired by MCA-Universal to write BART GOT A ROOM, upon completion of first year at AFI.
· May ’’98 -- received three-picture writing/directing deal at Miramax Films upon completion of the AFI program. Worked with Cathy Konrad (SCREAM; COPLAND; KIDS; GIRL, INTERRUPTED) on MY HOLLYWOOD PROM.

·June ’’98 – received MFA in Directing from AFI
·September ’’99 -- Hired by MGM to rewrite SPRING BREAK LIVE.
Brian is currently developing an independent feature.
