Brenda Weiermair

Brenda graduated from AFI in 2005 with an MFA in Producing. At AFI, she produced four short films, including QUEEN OF CACTUS COVE, her 35mm coming-of-age thesis film which has be- come a cult film favorite in teenage chess circles and won several prestigious festival awards. She then went on to produce 2 DOGS INSIDE, a film noir thriller à la Hitchcock style which screened at festivals around the world, and TRES, an award-winning short film consisting of three mini shorts based on the writings of famous South American filmmaker Carlos Hugo Christensen. Brenda is currently developing several feature projects, including a coming-of-age comedy she co-wrote enti- tled MOST LIKELY TO BE JOE, a CRASH-like drama she’’s written entitled PRECONCEIVED, and an untitled thriller/suspense she’’s currently writing. She’’s recently become a partner in Buoyant Films to develop and produce a slate of feature films.
