Anthony Nicholas

Anthony E. Nicholas was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1959. He completed his

undergraduate degree in history at University of California, Los Angeles in 1983.

He worked for five years managing and developing real estate at The Hapsmith Company,

a firm with major interests in southern and northern California.

In 1988, Anthony entered the American Film Institute as a producing fellow. Among his

First Year AFI productions was the short drama KAHULA BATH, shot entirely on location at the Museum of Contemporary Art Temporary Contemporary facility. His 1989 film, TENSES, was awarded a Gold Apple at the National Educational Film and Video Festival. In 1990, he produced the Academy Award- nominated short film SENZENI NA? (WHAT HAVE WE DONE?) as his Masters thesis project at AFI. It premiered at AFI in December 1990 and screened in early 1991 at the Los Angeles International Film Festival.
