Angela Chen

Angela was born and raised in the heart of Texas with family roots in Taiwan and China. She studied Film at the University of Texas at Austin and is a current Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. Angela’s films have won numerous awards and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, Austin Film Festival, and more. She was also a Fellow at Visual Communications which funded her short, A CONVERSATION and her first feature, TRIAD OF US, is the recipient of the ITVS Diversity Development Fund. Angela has worked as a freelance director and professional 1st AD for the past 12 years on features, documentaries, and commercials with companies such as Audi, Sony, CW, MTV and Google while teaching film at youth programs across California.
