Amit Bhattacharya
Amit Bhattacharya was born in Bethesda, Maryland. He grew up in India where
an early fascination with cinema and still photography led to his
first job as a post-production assistant.
He moved to the U.S. in 1986 and enrolled in the undergraduate
film program at the Columbia College Hollywood. There he was
able to explore his penchant for cinematography by shooting
most of the school's films that were made during his senior year.
After graduation, he continued to shoot independent projects,
including a feature INHUMAN NATURE with writer/director
Mitch Brian, as well as a number of music videos for cable
networks in Spain.
In 1991 Mr. Bhattacharya was accepted as a Cinematography
Fellow at the American Film Institute. Concurrent with his
fellowship he has continued to work as a free lance
cinematographer.
