Allison Eckert

Director

Allison, the youngest of four, grew up in the small town of New Glarus, Wisconsin. During her early years, every Friday night was Family Movie Night in the Eckert Household. These movie nights are where Allison developed her love for film. With a constant desire to be immersed in their stories, she got her first job at a movie theatre two towns away with a second at the local rental store. After high school, Allison attended the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She supplemented her education there with a semester abroad at the FAMU in Prague, Czech Republic. Inspired by her studies of Czech Cinema, Allison directed her first short, JANA and found her role in the filmmaking world. After college, Allison dove into the film industry in Seattle, WA, deepening her perspective of the practical and directorial execution of production as an Assistant Director. Three years later, she's graduating with a Masters in Directing from the American Film Institute as a recipient of the Mary Pickford Foundation Endowment.
