Adolfo Martínez Pérez
Producer | DirectorAdolfo Martinez was born from Spanish parents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in
1966. After growing up in Spain, where he obtained his BA in Communications
and held a variety of jobs that ranged from video editing to teacher of story
structure, he returned to the US in 1991 to attend the editing program at
AFI, at which time he participated in the film HELICOPTER.
Subsequently,
Adolfo never pursued a career as an editor; he combined, instead, his film
background with his drawing skills and ventured into the field of production
illustration, currently, still his livelihood, having participated in major
studio features such as the recent Columbia Pictures release CHARLIE'S ANGELS, ALIEN RESURRECTION, for 20th Century Fox or Columbia's STUART
LITTLE II, in which he is currently involved.
Samples of his storyboard
work can be found at http://www.storyboardsinc.com/martinezadolfo.htm (a long way from the
sketches he also did for HELICOPTER in addition to cutting the film, at
display in this site!)
Nowadays, Adolfo alternates his activity as an
illustrator with his passion for writing, having found his Spanish language
short stories awarded and published in Spain several times (Gabriel Aresty
award for EL BESO SALADA in 2000, Camilo José Cela award for SNACK in
1998.)
