Aaron Martinez

Aaron grew up with paper and pen in hand, spending much of his childhood drawing up treacherous scenarios, alter egos and devilish foes. As a teen he recognized his resonance with the arts and began what is now a lifelong obsession with filmmaking. After absorbing the unapologetic aesthetics of Stan Brakhage and Phil Solomon at the University of Colorado, he left the Zen of the Rocky Mountains to live in Madrid, Paris, and eventually Berlin where he worked as a commercial editor and motion designer in one of Europe’’s most artistically driven industries. At the AFI Conservatory Aaron has added a keen understanding of narrative storytelling to his strong sense of the cinematic language.
