From the producers of 'Spotlight' and '12 Years A Slave' comes a drama inspired by true events which happened following 9/11.
Netflix's 'Worth' trailer, which you can see below, sees Michael Keaton play attorney Kenneth Feinberg, who is in charge of the Victim Compensation Fund allocated to those who lost family members during the September 11th attacks in New York City in 2011. The VCF was set up to compensate the victims and their families so they would agree to not sue the airline corporations involved.
Joining Keaton in the cast is Stanley Tucci, who plays community organiser Charles Wolf. Amy Ryan rounds out the leading trio, playing the role of Camille Biros, who works with Feinberg in order to assess the "worth" of these grieving families. Marc Maron, Tate Donovan and Laura Benanti also star.
The film is directed by Sara Colangelo, who previously directed 'The Kindergarten Teacher' starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. Max Borenstein of 'Godzilla' fame wrote the screenplay while Michael Keaton, Marc Butan, Anthony Katagas, Michael Sugar, Bard Dorros, and Sean Sorensen produced.
The official synopsis for 'Worth' is as follows:
Following the horrific 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, Congress appoints attorney and renowned mediator Kenneth Feinberg (Michael Keaton) to lead the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Assigned with allocating financial resources to the victims of the tragedy, Feinberg and his firm’s head of operations, Camille Biros (Amy Ryan), face the impossible task of determining the worth of a life to help the families who had suffered incalculable losses. When Feinberg locks horns with Charles Wolf (Stanley Tucci), a community organizer mourning the death of his wife, his initial cynicism turns to compassion as he begins to learn the true human costs of the tragedy.
