As we know previously, Netflix isn't being shy about the fact that it wants to bring itself into the Oscar race and Mudbound probably is their best chance to date.
Set in Mississippi in post-World War II, the film has a stellar cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Garret Hedlund, Jonathan Banks and Mary J. Blige and a screenplay from Virgil Williams, who worked on ER, Criminal Minds and early episodes of 24. Whether or not the film has a real chance in the Oscars remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure - Mudbound is the strongest chance Netflix has had in years.
Mudbound lands on Netflix on November 17th.
