The 'Wandavision' finale drops today. Ahead of the occasion Conan O'Brien interviewed one of the halves of the titular show.
Paul Bettany told Conan about how he originally got cast as Vision.
He starred opposite Jon Favreau in 2004's 'Wimbledon'.
Favreau was looking for "a disembodied voice" that was "personality-less" with "no character at all" to voice J.A.R.V.I.S. in the first 'Iron Man'. H
e thought Bettany would be perfect.
J.A.R.V.I.S. then becomes Vision, who's part of the franchise from 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
Upon being asked about the various looks for the character went through in development, Bettany answered: "There was a lot of work done on that.
"Joss Whedon was manning the ship at that point.
"Right at the beginning, he was wondering, 'Vision's going to be born, we're going to see him ostensibly naked. He has to have a penis.
"Everybody was like, 'I'm not sure that's such a great idea for Vision. For him to sort of rise out of the crypt, as it were, with a penis.' And he said 'I need to see his penis.'
"So, and this is a true story, artists were sent away to do all of these renderings of Vision being born with a penis. And they put them all up on this huge wall of Marvel Studios.
"They invited Joss in and Joss stood in front of this huge wall. And he went, 'Never have I been more sure that I don't need to see Vision with a penis.' Because you don't want to see that."
