The trailer for 'Thunder Force', starring Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer, has landed online.
The actresses play two estranged childhood best friends who reunite as adults and become a superhero pair known as "Thunder Force".
The official plot synopsis from Netflix reads: "In a world terrorized by super-villains, one woman has developed the process to give superpowers to regular people.
"But when scientist Emily Stanton accidentally imbues her estranged best-friend with incredible abilities, the two women must become the first superhero team.
"Now, it is up to Thunder Force to battle the super-powered Miscreants and save Chicago from the clutches of The King."
It is the latest collaboration between McCarthy and her husband writer-director-actor Ben Falcone.
They previously made the films 'Tammy', 'The Boss' and 'Life of the Party' together.
The couple were also recently spotted on the set of 'Thor: Love and Thunder'.
Netflix too seems to be investing in superhero movies. Aside from 'Thunder Force', they produced 'The Old Guard' and 'Project Power' last year.
Also in the cast are Jason Bateman, Bobby Cannavale, Pom Klementieff and Melissa Leo, with Falcone making a guest appearance.
'Thunder Force' hits Netflix on 9 April.
