The cast of 'The Underground Railroad' is led by newcomer Thuso Mbedu, Chase W. Dillon and Joel Edgerton.
The series chronicles Cora Randall’s (Mbedu) desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South.
After escaping a Georgia plantation, Cora discovers an underground railroad full of engineers and conductors, which comprises a secret network of tracks and tunnels beneath the Southern soil.
Ridgeway (Joel Edgerton) is a bounty hunter who is fixated on bringing Cora back to the plantation she escaped from; especially since her mother Mabel is the only one he has never caught.
Cora travels from state to state and contends with the legacy of the mother that left her behind.
