The highly acclaimed comedy series has gifted us two new looks at our favourite Jewish family from New York City.
While it's unlikely we'll get to join the family for Hanukkah this year, at least we've been given our first look at what's to come next season. Amazon Prime has dropped two new pictures from 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' season four to whet our appetite for the time being.
From the looks of the pictures, Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) is in a rather deep hole of regret. Last we saw of the up and coming comic, she was about to embark on a worldwide tour with Shy Baldwin, but unfortunately, her mouth got the better of her on stage and she was fired as she was about to get on the plane; resulting in quite a devastating season three cliffhanger.
The new pictures from 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' season four show Midge lying down while being surrounded by various colourful props in what looks like a backstage area, probably reeling from her recent firing; meanwhile her on-screen parents, Rose and Abe (Marin Hinkle and Tony Shalhoub), are enjoying a glass of wine with their TV dinners.
Vulture spoke with Hinkle and Shalhoub about the photo unveiling. Hinkle said to the publication: "Don’t you love that shirt? It was really funny. I remember having the TV dinner and thinking, 'This is so much better than a real dinner'."
Shalhoub also gave a clue as to the state of the couple's relationship as they head into a new season: "Abe and Rose have definitely gone through a massive change in their lives and have a different way of focusing and seeing the world. You can see a loosening up of who they were and where they came from."
There are been no official release date for season four of the comedy series just yet. However, the series finished filming at the beginning of June this year. Both Kelly Bishop and Milo Ventimiglia from 'Gilmore Girls' will join the supporting cast for season four, as will John Waters, Jackie Hoffman and Allison Guinn.
Alex Borstein as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen as Joel Maisel, Kevin Pollak as Moise Maisel, Caroline Aaron as Shirley Maisel, and Luke Kirby as Lenny Bruce will return for the new season, which is expected to arrive on Amazon Prime in early 2022.
