He has played a variety of roles over the course of career, but Kerryman Michael Fassbender is as far from 'cute and cuddly' as you can imagine in the trailer for his new film.
The first trailer for 'The Killer', which is directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Zodiac, Gone Girl), has dropped and sees Fassbender play an assassin who becomes embroiled in an international manhunt after a hit goes wrong. It's based on a French graphic novel series of the same name.
It's a chilling trailer that intersperses action scenes with the monotone voiceover insisting that he should 'Stick to your plan. Trust no one. Stick to the plan. Forbid empathy."
The film's tagline reads: "After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers and himself on an international manhunt he insists isn't personal."
The film's soundtrack, meanwhile, was provided by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails, who are regular collaborators of Fincher's.
'The Killer' is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival this weekend, and hits Netflix and selected cinemas on November 10th.
