Every episode of the award-winning sitcom will land on Disney+ in a few weeks time.
Get your closest pals around for a binge session because a classic show from the '80s is heading back to our screens. Disney+ subscribers have another throwback series to look forward to this summer, with the arrival of all seven seasons of 'The Golden Girls' on July 2.
The 180-episode comedy sitcom ran during the late '80s and early '90s from 1985 to 1992, and features the lives of four single, middle-aged women who share a house in Miami Beach, Florida. For those who remember them (how could you forget?), the cast is made up of Beatrice Arthur, who plays Dorothy; Rue McClanahan as Blanche; Estelle Getty as Sophia; and of course Betty White as Rose. Each has their own little quirks and are just as hilarious as the next.
During its series run, 'The Golden Girls' won Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, and many other accolades for its humorous and touching portrayal of middle-aged life. Spoiler warning: friendship is an important factor.
Sadly, nearly 30 years after the final episode aired on NBC, Betty White is the only remaining cast member still alive. The star is 99.
It's fitting that 'The Golden Girls' should arrive on Disney+ during a time when a lot of us will be reuniting with old pals and friends that we haven't seen in a very long time. It's going to be one emotional summer.
For old time's sake, here's the Cynthia Fee's theme song, which was a cover of Andrew Gold's 'Thank You For Being A Friend'.
