Although it'll be hard to match the original, a spin-off series of 'The Boys' is now officially in the works at Prime Video.
The as-yet untitled series will be set in America's only college for superheroes, run by Vought International, the all-seeing corporation that manages and runs superheroes in the alternate reality where 'The Boys' exist.
Prime Video are hyping the spin-off as an "irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities," and compare it to 'The Hunger Games' but with the weirdness of 'The Boys' layered over the top.
No casting has been announced for the series yet, nor is there any confirmed air date, but it does speak to how successful 'The Boys' has been for Prime Video. While no viewership figures have been announced for the new season, a third season is already in early production, with bigger names and talent already cast, including 'Supernatural' star Jensen Ackles. Not only that, the show itself currently has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes too.
Here's hoping the spin-off just as funny and f*cked-up as the original.
