The second Disney+ live-action series based in the world of 'Star Wars' arrives before the very end of the year.
'The Book of Boba Fett' will arrive on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.
New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison will be returning as the titular character, reprising his role from 'The Mandalorian' season two. Ming-Na Wen also returns as Fennec Shand, who appeared in both of the sci-fi's first two seasons. There have still been no other cast announcements as of yet, meaning Jon Favreau and co are keeping fans in the dark until the series trailer arrives later this year.
Lucasfilm and Disney+ did however release the first official poster from the series. Check it out below.
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are executive producers on the first series of the spin-off. 'The Mandalorian' composer Ludwig Göransson will also return to score the series.
In August, Rodriguez teased that the 'Boba Fett' series will "blow your mind" and people will be "so pumped when they see it".
The official logline for the series is as follows: 'The Book of Boba Fett', a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
Filming for the series took place in LA, and once production wrapped earlier this year, the 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Disney+ series is believed to have begun production. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are both returning for this special event, which will premiere on the streaming service in 2022.
Another series set in the 'Star Wars' universe, 'Andor', wrapped filming earlier this week also. Gabriel Luna said fans should expect to see some "familiar faces" throughout the sci-fi prequel.
'The Book of Boba Fett' begins on Disney+ Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
