There's no word yet on exactly when 'Stranger Things' season 4 will drop. However we do know a couple of things about the upcoming series so far.
We know that production was delayed due to the current health crisis. Meaning it may be a longer wait until new episodes arrive.
We also know, following a cheeky surprise teaser a few months back, that Chief Hopper (David Harbour) is, in fact, alive.
In a new interview with THR, the showrunners of the series, Matt and Ross Duffer, hinted at more things we can expect.
Bearing in mind that season 3 was relatively lighter in tone compared to its previous seasons, Ross said: "We want each season to feel different, as opposed to re-creating the same thing over and over again."
Season 4 will likely see the return of a Russian story arc. That is, if the aforementioned teaser is anything to go by.
Regarding the inclusion of Russian characters in season 3, Matt said: "We were looking for a way to introduce new villains and new characters and new flavor into the show, and of course [the Russians] provided not just new villains but fun, endearing characters like Alexei.
"It was nice that we had planted it in season one, but we really had no idea that the show would go beyond that."
As for the status of season 4, Matt continued: "We've had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have all the scripts written and we're able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments."
But if Ross' comments are anything to go by, production is still on hold.
He said: "Everyone's excited to get back to work, but the priority is the safety of the cast and crew, and that will dictate when we go back."
Ross also noted that the upcoming season won't be its last.
He commented: "Season four won't be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The current delay] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story."
