When it comes to commitment to acting a role, the mind often goes to the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis in any one of his roles, Robert DeNiro in 'Raging Bull', or Hillary Swank in 'Boys Don't Cry'.
Yet, the kind of commitment that it took Sacha Baron Cohen to try and prank US Vice President Mike Pence for the upcoming 'Borat' sequel deserves a place alongside these performances. As he told the New York Times, trying to get near Pence took a lot of work.
For one, Baron Cohen describes how he put himself into a fat suit, put on several hours' worth of makeup, and then snuck into the Conservative Political Action Conference last February to try and get near Pence. Pretty tough so far, but not that shocking.
In order to get past Pence's Secret Service team and the internal security, he had to hold himself up somewhere safe and spring at the right moment. "I ended up hiding in the bathroom, listening to conservative men go to the toilet for five hours until I broke into the room," he explained, leaving out details of how conservative men to go to the toilet and what that smells like.
Ultimately, the results will be seen in 'Borat Subsequent Moviefilm' when it lands on Prime Video this Friday, but there's a brief glimpse of it in the trailer.
