This definitely is a little odd, seeing as how A) the charm of 'Robin Hood' was seeing a wily fox playing the character and B) talking / walking animals is going to be strange.
Either way, Disney has announced that the 1973 animated classic, 'Robin Hood', is getting a live-action remake. It's understood that the movie is being made for Disney's streaming service, Disney+, and will be written by Kari Grunlund, who wrote the live-action remake of 'Lady & The Tramp'.
The original movie was a musical comedy take on the classic tale, with Robin Hood being a fox, Little John looking and sounding suspiciously like Baloo from 'The Jungle Book', the evil Prince being a thumb-sucking lion while the Sheriff of Nottingham was a wolf.
The movie was also known for its narrator interludes with country singer Roger Miller, who performed the opening song for the movie.
The live-action remake is set to be directed Carlos Lopez Estrada, who is best known as a music video director and for making 2018 indie hit 'Blindspotting'. Lopez Estrada previously directed music videos for Billie Eilish, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, and Passion Pit.
So far, no release date has been set for the remake.
