Although no official date has been confirmed yet for Marvel's next original series on Netflix, it's understood The Punisher is hitting the streaming service some time in Autumn of this year.
In fact, there's a decent chance that we'll see the first trailer and a firm date set for The Punisher next week when the San Diego Comic-Con kicks off next Thursday. In the meantime, the first poster for the series has gone online via Entertainment Weekly and shows Jon Bernthal looking moody and holding a big gun.
It's definitely taking inspiration from the classic comics, especially the blood-soaked skull shirt and Castle's old leather jacket. Bernthal's appearance in the second season of Daredevil really was a highlight, and the character's so interesting that it makes complete sense he get his own series.
Let's just hope it isn't another Iron Fist.
