Pamela Anderson has made no qualms about the fact that she disapproves of the series 'Pam and Tommy', which reimagines the sex tape scandal involving her and her then-husband Tommy Lee. Now she's determined to relate what really happened, in her own words.
Taking to social media, and writing on a Netflix letterhead, Pamela Anderson announced that she'll be collaborating with the streaming service on a documentary about her life.
She writes: "My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the real story."
Anderson’s son Brandon Thomas Lee will serve as a producer on the doc.
He and younger brother Dylan Jagger Lee reposted the note on their Instagram stories.
According to a Netflix press release, the doc is set to be "an intimate portrait embedded in the life of Pamela Anderson as she looks back at her professional and personal path and prepares for the next steps on her journey."
It is described as "the definitive documentary about pop culture icon Pamela Anderson."
The film has been shot over a number of years and will feature exclusive interviews with the former 'Baywatch' star.
It includes never before seen archive footage and personal journals.
Ryan White, whose previous credits include 'The Keepers' and 'Ask Dr. Ruth', will direct it.
The news arrives as 'Pam and Tommy', which stars Lily James as Pamela Anderson and Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee, continues to air on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in Ireland and the UK.
Anderson has made no secret of the fact that she disapproves of the series.
A source told EW, "she'll never, never watch this. Not even years from now. Not even the trailer."
A release date for the Pamela Anderson doc on Netflix is TBC.
