Ah, Netflix. Such a vast catalogue can be overwhelming at times, and often it can seem unsettling to give up your valuable time and commit to a series. Luckily for you, we've chosen some of the best originals that are on offer.

So, whether you're in the mood for a good laugh, cry, or scream of terror, we've compiled the best original series on Netflix that you are going to love. Here's our favourites.

'Sex Education'

'Sex Education' is one of Netflix's most refreshing takes on the typical coming-of-age story. Breaking down those barriers about the short three-lettered word is the leading topic of the series, aiming to show that there's no need to feel shame or guilt about giving into whatever desires make you happy. The young cast are standouts, and a special shoutout goes to Gillian Anderson, who steals the show as sex therapist Dr Jean F. Milburn. Season three hits Netflix on September 17.

'Selling Sunset'

Fed up of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'? Then get stuck into 'Selling Sunset'. The reality series has three seasons available on Netflix, and the luxurious lifestyle of LA has never looked so... luxurious? Expect to see incredible deals be dealt, as well as a memorable cast to make sure there's enough drama to keep you entertained for all 24 episodes.

'Money Heist'

This Spanish-language original series on Netflix was originally only expected to run over the course of two releases. However, because of its popularity, Netflix will have managed to get six rollercoaster releases out of the heist thriller. Recruited to complete the greatest heist in history, the eight thieves are tasked with having to deal with hostages, brutal police forces and millions of euros in potential rewards. The first volume of the fifth and final part has just hit Netflix - volume two will arrive in December 2021.

 'You'

'You' is the type of trashy drama that sucks you in, and doesn't let you go until you've seen every single minute of it. The series stars Penn Badgely from 'Gossip Girl' as a man whose obsession with women turns him into a guy with a killer instinct... If you haven't already, you should start watching the first two seasons before the highly anticipated season three hits Netflix on October 15, which is set to take the series in a brave new direction.

'Narcos' and 'Narcos: Mexico'

This crime drama series is set in Columbia, and is based on the notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escabar's drug empire - think of it as like a South American version of 'Breaking Bad'. With three seasons of 'Narcos' available, as well as two seasons of its follow-up 'Narcos: Mexico', it's one of the best original series on Netflix.

'Big Mouth'

With four seasons already under its wings, it's about time you checked out 'Big Mouth' on Netflix. The animation series provides enough laugh-out-loud moments to keep you entertained, as the adolescent teens try to make it through high school as they begin to understand the inner workings of puberty, with a capital "P". The hormone monsters, voiced by Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolf, steal the show - so much so that they're getting their own spin-off series.

'Queer Eye'

Grab your best hennys for a night in with your five favourite gay men, and get ready to feel every emotion under the sun as you watch the series. 'Queer Eye' is the epitome of feel-good Netflix viewing, as the fabulous five travel across America changing the lives of men and women who may need that extra boost in order to be their true selves. Their spin-off 'Queer Eye: We're In Japan' is also a hoot.

'Ozark'

The brilliant Jason Bateman and Laura Linney star in one of the streamer's finest ensemble thrillers. The story follows a financial advisor who moves his family from Chicago to a summer resort known as Missouri Ozarks, where money laundering and drug bosses are the order of business. Total edge-of-your-seat drama, the fourth and final season of 'Ozark' is expected in 2022.
