Your next big action fix on Netflix is nearly here.
In the past year, Netflix has added a tonne of original action flicks to keep us on our streaming toes - some great, and some not so great. From what we can tell from the new trailer of 'The Old Guard', it seems like it's going to be pretty decent. It's got Charlize Theron returning to our screens as an action hero, so how bad could it get?
Based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka, Theron plays an un-killable warrior named Andy whose role is to lead and protect a covert group of mercenaries. She and the rest of her group aren't able to die, and so have been living for centuries being all bad-ass etc. You know the drill - it looks like a nice li'l action flick to turn your brain off and just watch for the action.
From the new trailer of 'The Old Guard', we can see that Theron's Andy manages to head back to the desert (which might be a slight nod to her 'Mad Max' days) in order to recruit a new member to her entourage, a woman named Nile (KiKi Layne), who is grappling with the idea of having eternal life. Alongside the rest of the mercenaries Marwan Kenzari (Jafar in Disney's live-action and Chiwetel Ejiofor ('12 Years A Slave'), it's up to them to put a stop to the big bad villain played by Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley from 'Harry Potter' - yeah we're as surprised as you).
