Some of the most intense scenes in TV crime series take place in an interview room.
Look at the likes of 'Law & Order', 'The Wire', 'NYPD Blue' or any crime show you can think of. Very often, the most crucial moments come down what goes on in the interview room, so why not make an entire series out of just those moments?
'Criminal' is set across 12 episodes and four countries - the UK, Spain, Germany and France - and sees a different case play out in each episode. Hayley Atwell and David Tenant star in the UK episodes, whilst 'Downfall' director Oliver Hirschbiegel takes on the German episodes.
The first trailer doesn't give much away beyond the general concept of the series, but considering the level of the cast and the directors attached, you just know this is going to be something special. 'Criminal' arrives on Netflix later this year.
