Amazon Studios' epic retelling of 'The Lord of the Rings' has cast another lead role in the series, played by an actor you might recognise from a well-known 2007 comedy.
British actor Maxim Baldry has been cast in a lead role in the upcoming 'Lord of the Rings' saga, which is set to be the most expensive TV series ever to be made. Baldry may look like your regular long-haired 24-year-old actor, but he's more familiar than you think.

Since stealing our hearts in 'Mr. Bean's Holiday', the actor has had various roles in some pretty well-known British TV series. He's starred in 'Doctor Who', 'Skins', 'Hollyoaks', and 'Strike Back'.
Who Baldry is playing exactly, remains a mystery for now. But judging by his long, flowing hair - we're thinking an Elf. Hopefully, we'll get some more concrete info in the months to come, or a teaser trailer at least, as the series is expected to hit Amazon Prime at the end of this year.

Tolkein's epic, as it is believed to be set years before anything we've yet seen in cinemas. Previous casting announcements didn't include Maxim Baldry's involvement in the series, and his involvement has been revealed by Deadline.
The already announced cast included relatively unknown actors, such as Robert Armayo who played a young Ned Stark in a flashback in 'Game of Thrones', and Morfydd Clark who played Mina in the recent BBC three-part 'Dracula' miniseries. Filmmaker J.A. Bayona will direct the series.
Amazon is pumping a massive $1 billion into their budget of the TV series, which reportedly began filming in New Zealand last year.
