Melissa Joan Hart, who of course played the titular role in that beloved series of our youth, ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’, has spoken up about the ‘Sabrina’ reboot series, titled ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’, that is coming to Netflix soon.

The new show will star ‘Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, Disney star Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, British actress Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, and Miranda Otto from ‘Lord of the Rings’ as Aunt Zelda.

Based on the Archie Comics series, the show will be much darker than the Hart-starrer series that ran from 1996 to 2003.

According to Netflix, "this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit."

Some first look pics, including an adorable one of love birds Sabrina and Harvey, have already teased the new show.

According to Melissa Joan Hart, the makers behind the series did not reach out to her about a potential role or to give them her blessing.

“No, they haven’t,” she told Bloodydisgusting.com by phone when asked about the producers making contact. “I have no feelings about it [the show] really.”

“Everybody’s remaking everything,” she added, and also expressed that she is glad the show is taking a new approach to the character: “I’m glad they’re not just duplicating it.”

Hart herself recently stepped behind the camera to direct the 2017 remake of ‘The Watcher in the Woods’. She is currently promoting the new DVD set of the ‘God’s Not Dead’ franchise, which she headlines the second of its three films.

The cast of ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ reunited last April for the series’ 15th anniversary. You can test your knowledge on how well you remember the original show in our quiz.

'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' arrives on Netflix just in time for Halloween on October 26th.
