Nightcrawler was, for us anyway, one of the most underrated films of recent years and if it had a soundtrack to match Drive, it'd be just as talked about as that.
Variety reports that Jake Gyllenhaal - who gave one of his best performances in Nightcrawler - is set to reteam with its director, Dan Gilroy, for a new Netflix film. The film, titled Velvet Buzzsaw, will be set in the art world and follows "big-money artists and mega-collectors who pay a high price when art collides with commerce," but will have a horror / thriller vibe.
Gyllenhaal isn't the only actor involved, either. Rene Russo, John Malkovich, Billy Magnussen and Toni Collette are all lined up to star, along with Stranger Things alum Natalia Dyer and Zawe Ashton, who'll next appear in Neil Jordan's The Widow.
Assembling a cast like this with a director / writer like Dan Gilroy is always going to come back with something interesting, so if it's half as good as Nightcrawler, we're on the right track here.
