Rosamund Pike stars in the show, adapted from the popular books by Robert Jordan.
Amazon has made the most of the (slightly weird) 360 video function on YouTube for the trailer. Using the video's spatial sound, you can scroll left or right to reveal some hidden symbols and characters. It's a bit of a gimmicky move, but at least the trailer looks good!
Ignoring your peripheries, the actual trailer itself has a lot to offer. We see Moiraine Damodred (Pike), part of the Aes Sedai, an order of women trained in the magic of "chanelling". Moiraine is searching for the one who can save the world from the evil forces of the "Dark One" and seems to have narrowed her search down to five young people.
She meets Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), Mat Cauthon (Barney Harris), Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden), and Nynaeve al’Meara (Zoë Robins), believing one of them is the key.
The series has been in the works for some years now. The initial announcement came around the time of the conclusion of HBO's incredibly successful fantasy 'Game of Thrones'.
The first season will have eight episodes and has already been renewed for a second season.
The first three episodes will stream on Amazon Prime on Nov 19th, followed by weekly episodes, airing Fridays.
