Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson met on the hit reality dating show 'Love Is Blind' and they were one of the few couples that came across as happy and healthy on the recent 'LIB' Netflix reunion show. However, the couple has officially announced that they will be getting a divorce and here's why according to Ruhl.
Right before 'Love Is Blind: After the Altar' aired, two couples announced that they were divorcing; Yanna and Jarrette, and also Nick and Danielle, to the shock of many of their fans, supporters, and followers.
In the reunion show that was filmed one year on from the 'Love Is Blind' weddings, Danielle and Nick presented as a strong, healthy couple within the marriage but Danielle has spoken out detailing some of the issues present between the pair that the cameras may not have caught.
Danielle uploaded a video to Instagram citing some of the reasons for their split, boiling it down to incompatibility she said, "We were very amicable and civil at first and that’s why people were confused with some of the back and forth that happened but going through the divorce process added even more stress and it’s tough on both of us".
She continued describing the circumstances around the separation and stating that the divorce was a mutual decision, "When we decided to separate, it was a mutual decision, like, we talked about it, [it] wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment thing, even though it seems like that".
She even said, "We tried really hard, and again, we were just like, ‘You know what? I think it is in our best interest and I need to get out of the what if mode because hindsight’s 20:20.’ It’s tough", and she explained that there was still a lot of love there, "It’s hard, it’s very hard".
The pair remain supportive of one another and it seems as though the split was somewhat amicable. Fortunately, there's a whole batch of singles ready to fall in love on the show next month.
Netflix's 'Love Is Blind' season three airs on the 19th of October.
