Do you ever find yourself saying: "What I need right now is a series about a deadly pandemic turning the world into a post-apocalyptic wasteland"? Well buckle up, we've got a show for you.
The 10-episode series, based on the 2014 best-selling novel by Hilary St. John Mandel, was ordered by HBO Max way back in pre-COVID 2019.
The official synopsis of the show reads: "A post-apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines, this limited drama series tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost."
To be fair, it doesn't seem to be the zombie-ravaged hellhole that most of these series imagine. The trailer is quite sweet and it looks like the room has been read in terms of how to present it.
The cast includes Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, Daniel Zovatto, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Philippine Velge, Nabhaan Rizwan, Lori Petty, Gael Garcìa Bernal, and Danielle Deadwyler.
Patrick Somerville, who previously worked as a writer on HBO's 'The Leftovers', serves as writer and showrunner.
'Station Eleven' will premiere on HBO Max on December 16. Check out the trailer below.
