We're desperately clinging onto the summer right now. It's not all bad news, however, as there's a sleuth of exciting TV shows on their way to our screens this aumtumn and winter.
And as you can see in the 'Foundation' trailer below, Apple TV+'s new sci-fi epic is one of them.
The series, which was partially filmed in Castletroy, Limerick last year, looks like it will be a visually stunning series to watch. Let's hope the acting and storyline can also deliver an epic viewing experience too.
The 10-episode first season is the first on-screen adaptation of Isaac Asimov's series of books which includes the destruction of civilisations, some time travel, and lots of magnificent scenery. The series stars Jared Harris as Dr. Hari Seldon, who is able to predict the upcoming fall of the Galactic Empire.
Helmed by visionary showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer ('Batman Begins' and 'Man of Steel'), 'Foundation' also stars Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, and Cassian Bilton.
Here's the trailer.
The official synopsis of the series is as follows: When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hari's claims, the ruling Cleons — a long line of emperor clones — fear their unrivalled reign may be weakening as they’re forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their powerful legacy forever.
'Foundation' begins exclusively on Apple TV+ on September 24. Two episodes will launch at first, followed by a new episode every Friday.
