With all of the hustle and bustle of this time of the year, it's comforting to know that we have at least one popular title to look forward to watching during the downtime that happens in the new year.
The date of arrival of the final season of 'After Life' has been released a month out from its premiere.
Hitting our screens in the middle of January 2022 will be the concluding part of Ricky Gervais' critically-acclaimed comedy/drama series. Fans of the show will know that we follow the life of Tony (Gervais), a writer for the local newspaper whose life is upended after his wife (Kerry Godliman) dies from cancer.
Whilst the first season dealt with Tony still struggling with immense grief for his late wife, season two saw him trying to move on with his life as best he could. According to Netflix, season three will see Tony "start to realise that making other people feel good is what can give him hope and a reason to live".
Ahead of its release, some official teaser images have been shared.
Gervais also shared a trailer on his Twitter page, featuring footage from the upcoming final season of 'After Life'.
Gervais, Godliman and German Shephard Brandy will return for the six new episodes, as will Penelope Wilton, Ashley Jensen, Tom Basden, Tony Way, David Earl, Joe Wilkinson, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, David Bradley, Peter Egan, Ethan Lawrence, Colin Hoult and Michelle Greenidge. Kath Hughes ('The End of the F***ing World'), joins as a new intern, Coleen.
The final season of 'After Life' will premiere on Netflix on Friday, January 14.
